Tiebout green

FBHC built Tiebout Green, a 7-story, twenty-unit affordable apartment building at 2311 Tiebout Avenue in 2014. The building provides affordable homes for families and individuals with incomes that are significantly below the area median income.  It consists of one studio apartment, seven one -bedroom apartments and 11 two-bedroom apartments.  The building also has a laundry room, landscaped backyard, and a roof garden terrace.

The Tiebout Green uses a number of systems to improve the building performance and minimize environmental impact. It features a high efficiency elevator, energy-saving light fixtures, fixtures that control the volume of water delivered to each unit, bamboo flooring, and low – emissive argon filled windows. The building design also incorporates a solar thermal system for heat and domestic hot water, a rainwater harvesting system that will operate all the toilets in the building, and a green roof garden terrace that will combat air pollution and prevent stormwater runoff.
